A brief history

Sarrià is a neighborhood in the Sarriá-Sant Gervasi district of the city of Barcelona. It was an independent municipality of the Barcelona City Council until 1921, when it was added to the municipality of Barcelona, ​​despite the opposition of its inhabitants. Since then, it has been one of the neighborhoods that make up the Sarriá-Sant Gervasi district. The first surviving written data on the town date from the 10th century. It is known nationally and footballing for being the location of the Estadio de Sarriá for a long time, the former stadium of the Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona.
