Essaouira (Arabic: الصويرة) is a coastal city in Morocco. It is known as the Windy City. Essaouira (Arabic: الصويرة, aṣ-Ṣawīra, Berber: ⵜⴰⵚⵚⵓⵔⵜ, Taṣṣort, formerly ⴰⵎⴳⴷⵓⵍ, Amegdul, Portuguese: Mogador) is a city in the western Moroccan region of Meṛṛakec-Asfi, on the Atlantic coast.
